Evening all.

My Laguna is squealing like a cat crapping razor blades when changing gear when its cold.

I'm no expert but I reckon thats a new belt and tensioners required - looks like Renault sell replacement in a kit.

I'm more logically than mechanically minded so wonder if anyone can recommend someone local and any idea of costs involved ?

And its not a fan belt, thats electonically driven - aux belt / alternator belt is it called ?

Jane,

Interested that you use that garage for your TVR - do you not use a TVR indie or the like to keep your service stamps TVR orientated?

I have a Griffith and have resisted thus far to have a non specialist stamp inserted in the service book what with perceived impact on residual value and future saleability so to speak.

Your obviously satisfied with the garages quality of service and workmanship?

I came across the link on here, to East Port Garage by accident this morning ( nothing to do with my influence) but have to admit the garage belongs to us, so yes that is why my TVR goes there to have his work done on him.

My TVR is the Chimeara with the Rover engine, ford brakes et., so nothing specialised about that.

Saying that, I have had him over three years now and he is almost new again, having had a full respray, shockers done, brakes, wishbone and six monthly service and MOT all done by us. ( the new hood was made by someone in Edinburgh and he did an excellent job)

So I cannot really answer your question sorry .. .. ..
