I'll take your Pizza Express and raise you a Wetherspoons
Serious suggestion now: not too posh, just one of the places I like: http://www.red-onion.co.uk/

+1 for Italian Kitchen
I also love Amarone in buchanan st, nelson mandela place. My weegie socialite burd tells me that is "so past being cool now" and go to mediterraneo on Ingram St.
If you want posh (altho further afield) Marr Hall Hotel is fantastic or try the old fav - 1devonshire (altho always worth checking upto date reviews as changes hands from time to time).
Any of the above should provide brownie points

I keep getting emails from the Blythswood and keep meaning to pop in for a drink when I'm up that way. Is it worth going in for a look if I'm not getting food?Otherwise for traditional good lunch and very good service la parmigana on great western road is always good!

the bar is ok, but nothing special, but i did think the food was very nice. They do a set price dinner menu which is well worthwhile. has only been open three weeks and it seemed like it as staff were all still learning but trying very hard to impress and please. Def worth a visit for food! You can buy me dinner if you want! thin k it may be your turn! am away to Amsterdam on friday until tuesday, before you ask, where i am in the world just now!
We still need to play squash whilst we remember the rules! I suspect you and Andy are just getting super fit so you can thrash an old man like me on the courts!

That would have been my recommendation too but friends were there recently and thought it had gone down hill. Reading some on-line reviews it does look poor for them. Anyone else been recently?Andrew[MG] said:

Their sister restaurant accross the road on albion street, The Italian Cafe, is a better bet. It does similar food, but tapas stylee and is a much nicer place to be seated.Tinderbox for a cuppa of course.
