I know we all like to go on runs and not crash!

As an additional idea: How about a meeting in Glasgow just for chat and tyre kicking some evening? Possibly the 2nd Wednesday of each month at say tinderbox in Ingram street at 730pm? Dont want to make it a pub as may give off wrong idea of possible drink driving etc

Any other ideas? Would need somewhere central, with lots of parking nearby? prefably with a cafe nearby!

Sounds good. What's parking like there though, can't imagine it'd be too great...?

(not that I know the area too well but it looks to be slap-bang in the city centre)

The parking there can be ok depending on if there are any events on iin the city chambers or other venues. will go there this wednesday evening and have a look.
There is parking on the side roads and a car park 50m away but isnt one I would use
Parking on ingram street is always difficult

Open to other suggestions for a venue?

There is a big car park at Kelvingrove art gallery and a Bean Scene Cafe accross the road, but the service there is always very slow! also you cant see your cars from the cafe unless you park them on the private road in front of the gallery! City council needs to give permission to use it

The Wheelhouse in Falkirk. Nice place with big glass windows over-looking car park. View of Falkirk Wheel.
Err - also 3 miles from my house!!!!

Could have a different meeting point on different months?? Edinburgh, Glasgow, Central?
Just a thought. ally - back me up

There's also the City inn down by the clyde, they've got a parking area and you can have a nice coffee outside by the river.

I know the city inn has a small car park is there another one close by where can keep an eye on cars?
There is a good place and space at the Falkirk Wheel Restaurant but that is a bit far away for Glasgow folk. Very god location for a car/coffee meet

I fear we may have to join the locals for a spot of "cruising" laugh

Although it's a pub/hotel, a wee run out to the Popinjay never disappoints, plenty parking there.

Think we would want to stay away from the showcase as we may attract the wrong type of attention there!
The car parks at the popinjay didn't used to be lit so may not be an idea until the summer?
Am still trying to think of other venues with safe'ish parking where we can get coffee and be inside if we wish and keep an eye on the cars.

What date do we want to start this from?

cool

Good shout. Although approx 5 miles for me! Not been in the place, but it's got a great carpark and being glass-fronted would be ideal! The idea of "sharing" the evening meet sounds good, get to see more of Scotland...

A couple more potential locations: the Brewer's Fayre type place near Auchenkilns (decent carpark) or possibly the Crowwood at Moodiesburn. Both fairly central for Glasgow/Edinburgh/Stirling bods.

Brewers Fayre at Newhouse? Has an additional carpark across the road from it?
Of course there is Harthill services.... plenty of parking there!

If you go City Centre, cars are going to end up being parked all over the place unless you get an enclosed car park which might defeat the purpose?

I like the idea of the Popinjay.

Newhouse is a good location but it's a dreadful place to sit for the evening. I get depressed after about 2 minutes!

If there's only 5 or 6 cars then I'm sure Tinderbox east or west would be fine.

I take it we're not meeting tonight???

Hi
I understand the problem with the city centre

Was thinking of going in this evening and checking it out and asking the staff which are the quietest nights for parking

Will try to be there by 815pm

Anyone else coming in?

Won't have any of the old cars though!
