We, that is the wife and I plus another couple and a doggie, have been visiting Scotland every year for the past 7 tears for a car related gathering and although we have done Southern & Central Scotland we've never managed to do the Highlands so this year the plan is a week up there.

Finding reasonably priced accommodation is proving difficult so can anyone recommend some places north of Skye/Aberdeen to stay that preferably charge no more than £50 per couple per night?

Obviously would need to be pooch friendly.

Would all really depend on where you are planning on staying. Some travelodges do let you take dogs aslong as they have prior warning.

When are you planning this holiday?

Surely there aren't that many Travelodges in the Highlands.

The car gathering is end of May bank holiday so travelling into the Highlands 1st June.

The Spittal of Glenshee lets you take in dogs, ours slept in their crate in the corner of the room.
You can check it out on the link. www.spittalofglenshee.co.uk
Bunk house part a bit basic, but depends if you want it as a base for travelling etc.

All depends where you are heading, the Highlands is a big place ya know laugh

I actually bought a book about dog friendly B&B's a while back. I will see if I can find it.

I have to say that £25 per person per night plus dog friendly is a big ask! Best of luck though.

Slightly further south than you specified, but I can highly recommend The Royal Dunkeld Hotel in Dunkeld, and The Atholl Arms in Blair Atholl (directly opposite Blair Castle). The Atholl Arms has a sister hotel in Moulin, near Pitlochry (with the added advantage of their own micro-brewery attached)!

Some great deals at all three of these places - 5 nights B&B for £75 in winter too at The Atholl Arms.

This is £60 per night B&B (two plus dog - mention the dog, they have different acommodation for dog/no dog guests). I highly recommend (not just because they are my next door neighbours!). Likely to be booked though - http://www.stevecarter.com/ansh/kinloch.htm

A BIG thank you - we went and stayed. Only one night as it was all they had available but WOW!

We shall be going back!
