Elrick to Peterculter road (Aberdeen)
Discussion
Yeah drove it last night on the way to football. It's the worst road in the Aberdeenshire by far. I can actually feel the car skipping around on the road and the traction control light flickering, it really is dangerous anything above 35-40mph. Normally late at night you can hog the middle of the road to avoid potholes, but there is no escaping the craters.
The question is, why was the road shut for a week 3 weeks ago? I was expecting it to have been repaired during that time, just seems to be worse.
I remember the days that road used to be a good blast.

For what good it will do, I filled in a complaint form:

I use it everyday too, and fear a cracked windscreen as well from the stones.
I love the fact they put 10mph signs and loose chipping signs as well, as if its justification for the state its in.
They seemed to shut it 3 weeks ago to do a tiny piece of rework at the section near Peterculter.
I hope they sort it soon, I end up staying late at work just so I can go home through the town.

I use it every day
Peterculter is in aberdeen city so I wonder if the repairs carried out a few weeks ago were by the city and the shire own the rest of the road.
They have patched up a few bits just past the narrow bridge but most of it is horrendous.
I wish they would ban HGVs from using the road.

Don't think you'll get far with Aberdeen City council, try Aberdeenshire

I'm guessing sending an email through the above would be the best way.
I have complained to ABZ council as well, I wonder if they will be so quick to respond.

I complained to Aberdeenshire council and they responded very quickly by phone and email to point out that from the narrow bridge onwards heading towards Peterculter, is all Aberdeen City Council. So Gareth is acctually right with his link.

Fair enough. That'll explain why the section up to that bridge (from Elrick) is perfect. A lot of it was re-laid a couple of years ago with the grippy surface put down on the tight corners. Either way, surely this should be funded by road tax, not from the local council budget. I have complained to ABZ council as well, I wonder if they will be so quick to respond.
I never got a reply either.
I also complained to Aberdeenshire council about the road through Dunecht.
They acknowledged me within 24hrs and within 48hrs later repairs had been done. OK, not super smooth and perfect but an improvement.
I also noticed today on the Culter road they've put up temporary 30mph signs....

We had two huge potholes in the road at the end of our drive when I lived in Great Western Road. There were chafed power cables exposed with bare wires on view, yet email complaints just kept getting bounced around between BEAR and Aberdeen City Council. So the other half phoned ACC up and told them that I had a low sports car and it was only a matter of time before I contacted them for compensation for damaged wheels or tyres. Unbelievably the holes were fixed within 24hrs.
So exposed wires and the risk of someone breaking an ankle wasn't enough, but the threat (even imagined) of compensation for damages seemed to do the trick!
