I was up at 4, at ABZ at 5 for a flight at 6.

NATS have closed the airspace due to icelandic volcanic ash drifting over Scotland.

I feel your pain. Got there at 5.30am and thought the boy was winding me up when he started to talk about volcanic ash! I guess it's just a case of sitting back and waiting...

Doesn't look like there will be any IFR flights for a while. SAR helis can fly VFR-only but doubt there'll be anything else up.

Now no flying from any UK airports.
Is anyone else a tad suspicious of this with all the blue sky above us? Could there be something else going on and this is a way of not alarming the general public? Just a thought! wink

I've had the same thoughts. It's got a bit clouder here in Falkirk but still, it's a bit strange...
