well didnt take long for that bug to bite..

ended up buying this

can you guess what it is yet?

unfortunitly it came with all this useless bunff so itl be getting taken out and sold

original door mirrors i believe.

the wheels will also be getting binned from 17" wrecked from kerbing back to the standard 15s with some good rubber.

however took the car back via the netherly road and it performend brilliantly.

i know i had one a year ago but i forgot how much it needs to be revved to get the power out of it.

only problem was i cooked the brakes in the 10 miles from stonehaven to culter so they will definitaly require an upgrade.

there are some bad parts the car looks better in the pics than it is. the other side has a big scratch that has been touched up and has some dents and dings but drives supurb.

Mark,

Looks a nice project car there. You should have some fun removing (and binning wink!) the ICE and interior. Would be interested to see how much weight can be saved.

Look forward to seeing your progress.

driven by necessity i believe wink
Well your mind was already made up on that one then.
If its a track car, strip it, and really go to town, just ask scz4... sell the ICE and other non essential stuff.

Does it run the same engine/ gear as the GTi6?

Nice one Mark, that will the Nobbly from certain Track Death! What are your plans for the VTS? Apart from the obvious loss of sound system and sound deadening etc...?

Did you get your wheel bearing/loose caliper fixxed?

Iain

roddy not really a tunable engine performance through added lightness is the way forward.

handling is brilliant remember i had one of these for the road for 2 years so im well aware of what it can do.

i recon from standard ie without the ice i can get at least 100kg out without much effort. seeing as base weight i think is 1020kg itl be pretty light.

a brake upgrade is on the cards first as they are shot even in standard form.

its going to the garage tommorrow.

yes i had a dillema with the nob. if i used it on the track id NEED insurance andd at £100-£200 per session as well as wear and tear and costs of fuel tyres and entry a track night could be very costly... or emotional!

however with the xsara i wouldnt be worried about binning it or wear and tear that would lose it value. and i can make an effort to get a bit more mechanical knowledge which il admit i lack.

yep the box is brilliant. you practically drive the car like a vtec honda. itl rev to 7k and pulls really well from 5k onwards.

this is car number 14 for me and the only one iv ever had 2 of.
