Howdy folks

I'm looking for a place in the old town tomorrow night that does decent burgers or pizza. I'll be coming for Beltane, but our window of opportunity for eats is pretty limited.

Despite hanging about Edinburgh quite a bit over the years, I'm racking my brain for ideas.

Any pointers?

Last time i was there was the on the royal mile. The Filling Station, american style dinner restaurant. Burgers they do, pizza and everythign esle. Normally about a 10 -15min wait on a burger.

Couple of thoughts - isn't there an independant italian place in the grassmarket? My other suggestion would be le sept on the royal mile (fleshmarket close?) that does nice stuffed crepes pretty bloody quickly.

Taste of Italy's quite good - it's not Old Town, but just down the road from Calton Hill on the junction of London Road and Leith Walk, few doors down from the Playhouse.

Depends how quick is quick?

I'd suggest La Favorita on Leith Walk.

Proper pizza oven. lick

I think there's a Pizza Express on George IV bridge, literally a ten second stroll from the Rotal Mile opposite Deacon Brodies.
