I was out in the Coupe fixing misfire and while test running up a back road I hit this !!..RS4 alloy has chip out of the rim on the inside and probably U/S..I stopped and took pictures on my phone ,if a bike hits this is game over for sure..tried to aviod it but car was coming other way so pretty screwed

So was wondering how do I go about getting cash back out of road department for wheel and has anybody done this before that can give me advice?

Cheers

Hi Steve, there was a few posts regarding this earlier in the year. Quite a few of the lads from Aberdeen way had hit massive potholes. From memory, it was mentioned that it has to be repoted first and then if it's not been fixed and you hit it then you can claim.
I would get in touch with the council and find out who you should speak or write to. Photos and repair/replacement bill along with a well drafted letter might do the trick. Don't hold your breath on this one though.

Are you sure your coupe didn't make that tear in the tarmac as you put your foot down!! Good luck.

I remember watching a fifth gear episode about this and if you get pictures of the pothole so that you can see what street it is in an also a picture with a ruler to show how deep , long and wide ( looks like you might need a measuring tape fir the length lol) then the council can pay out if it's deeper than 4inches, ( I think not too sure ) just YouTube the episode and it will talk you through it. If I'm correct I believe they got their cash for a burst tyre and rim !!

Sorry to heat about that though, my alloys are fked also from potholes,
remind me what do we pay road tax for again??
