Hot Hatch Videos 15th May

Just some video footage I took from the Hot Hatch day yesterday, as promised to the other 2 fellas in 7esque cars. Was a good day, the sessions are far less "mental" than their reputation would suggest so long as you aren't in group 1

2nd vid - rear facing camera, good shots of a Clio Trophy, couple of Evos, a M3 CSL having some serious fun at the hairpin (twice!) and the red Westfield parked sideways..

That was a tad hairer ! I've never done a track day - can't imagine it's all that cheap to buy a track car and keep it going - would love to try it though ! Think I'd be out of my deapth looking at that vid !

Speed sundays arent that bad aslong as you have the power to get by most and keep out of trouble.

I wouldn't let any of these videos put you off - there is another session for "novice" drivers on hot hatch days and other track days which have far fewer cars on track and better driving standards....generally the only risk to your car on track days is the red mist descending and you push harder than you car and abilities would allow...

Maybe a daft question, but do they go over the basics before you go out ? i.e best line to take etc etc.

To be honest if you want a trackday the speed sunday/ hot hatch is what your looking to avoid,best doing a trackscotland day as they normally have an instructer that will go out with you for a few laps

I believe knockhill used to run "Track Day School" days - one of these was my first experience of track driving and it was an excellent introduction and got me hooked. Otherwise as AMD87 said, some other days include instructors and possibly some "novice" sessions...
