Did anyone see the SeaKing going up and down the Broomielaw this evening around 7pm? It was incredibly low - below rooftop level - and seemed to be searching the river for a good hour or so.

I've no idea what it was doing. Hopefully it's not someone fallen in the river, but it was spectacular looking, the lowest I've ever seen anything like that fly. It had an RAF symbol on its side, if that helps anyone? I'd have expected the Navy to be more involved if it were a missing person in the river. Any ideas?

Just noticed the thread title looks like a personal ad, "Seeking in Glasgow..". Hah.

Anyway, nothing on the news about this helicopter. Oh well, it was cool anyway.smile

My office overlooks the Clyde and 2 or so years ago there was a jumper in the Clyde and the normal helicopter was trying to assist and then a Sea King appeared just at the Suspension Bridge. It came down so low that I could look out my window onto the top of its rotors and I am only on the 2nd floor!

Amazing seeing the skill involved in controlling something that size!

I stayed on the Clyde for over 5 years. It'll either be a rescue drop off/pick up from near the tall ship, a river rescue or just training. They train up and down the clyde every year i think and just hover up and down real slowly and its great to watch as they drift right by the flat, smae height as me (5th floor) but in all honesty, it sounds like a rescue of some sort. they are about quite often to be honest.
