Well, I'll be setting off tomorrow morning at 3:30am on a 800 mile journey to pick up my new toy.

Hopefully I'll be back in time for supper when I'll be able to post up some pictures of it biggrin

I'm so excited!

Yep.. got back a few hours ago.

So, my first day of Monaro ownership? .... LOVE IT. Can't get enough of it! It just eats away at the miles.

I think it may have some performance issues OR (possibly) it's not as 'mental' as I expected it would be. If you're cruising along in 6th at say, 60 and my Astra is doing the same and you plant your foot down in both.. the Astra leaves the Monaro for st. So, I'll be investigating and tweaking over the weekend to see what's going on smile

6th gear is really for cruising only, the gearing is appallingly bad for pulling away, especially in a stock tuned car. Remap will help, change of diff ratios will help more or as advised drop it a couple of gears - you'll get 70mph approx in 1st, 105mph in 3rd. In 6th gear at 90mph you'll be sitting at around 1700rpm so you really do have to drop down a bit to get into the exciting part of the torque curve.

70 in 1st? I thought that too....

I've only had it at 40 in 1st though and it's pretty high up the rev counter.

I'll need to get that remap sorted, too! I've put it past Sofia and she's happy enough.

looking good, as for a meet I'll give you a buzz or drop you an email on sunday when I get back. you not signed up for the run on sunday with the rest of the crew on here, will give you a chance to get a feel for the car on more interesting roads than normal. they're not a bad bunch really, don't bite well unless you're into that sort of thing lol

Looks great! smile

I passed a red Monaro in New Town yesterday evening, and saw it again today parked up elsewhere ... would that have been you?
