I doubt that'll be allowed to happen. Surely all they have to do is switch them off, then renotify the police/fire brigade, etc. of introducing them again? We might get a week without them during the "notification" period but then be stuck with them again. I might be being too simplistic here!

TBH though the 40mph is correct for certain parts of that where folk are working (but that's another arguement not for this thread).

I can't belive those camera's work properly. They are changing the layout of parts of the rd every week.Your not telling me the camera's are getting re calibrated every time the layout is changed.

I did think that myself, one time passing under the viaduct at Castlecary I could swear the cameras were pointed at a different direction.

My bet is that there is only a minimal number of pairs of cameras that are operational on a fairly unchanged stretch of road. Just like the cameras on the A77.

My sis-in-law a couple of weeks ago. She doesn't normally use the road from Kilmarnock going south but she was in Glasgow and coming back south and didn't realise till she was half way through. It was the first pair that caught her (between Bogend Toll and Hansel Village).

If she had been thinking she should have stopped for a minute on the carriageway..
