I am off to the grand prix in 2 weeks time, friday only, and need a decent long zoom or prime lens for the day. I was looking at hiring one from 'lensesforhire.co.uk' but their postage is over £20. Does anyone know anywhere (other than Calumet) who hire out lenses in or around Edinburgh so that I wont have to pay the postage charges.

If anyone has a nice lens they could lend me then I would be able to supply the necessary beer tokens but I know this may be asking a touch too much.

Cheers all.

Why not Calumet? It's the obvious answer here.

John.

Slight problm with having to pay the full price of the lens as a deposit, lensesforhire have a no deposit policy and so was wondering if there was something similar local. Google doesnt offer any help unfortunately.

Canon fit, 100-400 zoom or 300 prime would be ideal

20 quid postage for something worth a grand+ isnt really that outrageous, to be fair.

You're going to have to look for lends I reckon. Might be worth posting in the Photo forum and whichever geographical one involves Northamptonshire.

Most of the chaps I know have Nikon kit.

I'll ask a man that knows more tomorrow.

Longer stuff: 70-200/2.8, 300/2.8, 400/2.8.
Silverstone in locations like the pit at Abbey, I use the 400 for cars. But having a car aiming at 120mph you with nothing much standing in the way is a buzz! I don't really like (the old) Silverstone full curcuit, as there is only a few good spots for good shots, so everyone takes the same thing.

If one of those lenses fits the bill, let's talk.
