The Central Scotland TVR Group are holding a BBQ at Broomhall Castle in Menstrie on Sunday. Same place as the BBQ after the Pistonheads run on the 25th. I know that there are quite a few TVR owners in the area that aren’t into the club thing but it would be great to see some of you along on Sunday. You don't even need to own a TVR (but it would be nice if you drove something interesting). Should start about 1.30ish. It’s £10 per head, but the hotel are kindly donating 25% of the cost to the Sporting Bears charity which mainly helps sick kids.
If you’re thinking of coming could you reply on the forum so that we can make sure there’s enough grub to go round

Hi Kev
Look forward to meeting you. Run is from Stirling services up A9, through Braco and Gleneagles and down through Glendevon going back along Hillfoots to Menstrie. Should take an hour or so. Just pay at BBQ.

Hi Alan
keen to come along - run and BBQ but can't commit until the morning of; sorry. I haven't had a chance to give the car a once-over after its last track day, and I've got some things to do to it before the next session so Saturday's a garage-day for me. But, if it all looks OK and it's dry on Sunday (can't do the wet sans roof wink) then I will try to make it.

How many miles does the run cover approximately? The longest the car's ever ran on the road has been maybe 30 miles in one go - about a tankful laugh.

Willie, you need a bigger tank smile. It's about 44 miles, if thats too much we could meet you at the layby at the bottom of Glendevon at the side of the reservoir. It will be good to see the beast again. I think there might be a few American muscle cars coming to the BBQ, so at least we will have one TVR that can compete.

Fuel tank was a joke...well only just! On track days I'm measuring 1 litre per Knockhill lap, which if my maths are correct is around 5mpg. On the road I guess I might reach the heady heights of 10Mpg, or maybe even a little more if driving Miss Daisy.

But yes, I'm up for it if it's dry and there are no horrors to fix after the last track session. I haven't even lifted the bonnet since I took it off the trailer after the last stint, so there could be all sorts of nasties waiting for me. I do hope not though....

Thanks to all that came to the BBQ today and yes it was a tad rainy !!!!!

All in all some nice TVRS and also a great looking Nissan along with four very nice Alfas ( one was a bit posh for our gathering tho !! )

Thanks also to those who came home from London town straight to be with us today and bravely wore a pink gingham shirt ( Robert wrote that ! )

We raised £100 for sportingbears and it would have been more if the sun had made an earlier appearance

Indoor BBQ suggested by the chefs so thanks to them and lets hope the next BBQ on the 25th July is kinder to us with better weather.

More thanks are due to you and Robert and all of the staff for their hard work, to lay on such a choice of delicious items. In the interests of research, I sampled everything, and it was all perfect!

Wearing another hat, thanks especially for your generosity in donating to the Sporting Bears. As I announced at the time, and for anybody who missed it, we will be passing that on to the Clowndoctors, who help kids in hospitals and hospices in this area.

Thanks also to everybody who came along and supported this event, despite the not very promising weather.

A big thanks to you and all your staff. The food was great and plenty of it. It was a pity that we couldn't get a few more TVR owners along. Thanks to Philip and his friends for coming along, it was a shame about the weather, but it will be better on the 25th.
