Anyone heard or seen these planes in Aberdeen this morning?

Absolutely massive! Been flying directly over my work the doing like a touch 'n' go.
Been on the phone to a mate and he says they are about to go up to RAF kinloss for some exercises.

The sound is crazy! Making everything shake and vibrate at work! And so low!

Trying to grt a picture of ten! smile

Is that what that was!! I came out of the bank this morning on Queens road and spotted a large grey plane making a hell of a racket.

Yup.
It was circling and doing some touchdowns.
Very impressive!

Was directly above me. Probably no more than 1000ft.

Sat in an office near the airport, been watching it doing laps about the place. Know a guy who worked on the short take off and landing strategy for them, quite an interesting bit of work actually.

Very impressive sight, first one i've seen and heard up close.

This is the only picture I was able to get, couldn't get my phone out of my pocket quick enough!

That's just after it done like it's touch n go. But it was seriously low above us! Could feel the ground vibrating!

There was only one, it did 4 or 5 figure of 8 circuits before heading of to Leuchars (I switched on the scanner). The photo is as it passed my house at Cove. It's massive - 170' wingspan I think the biggest passenger plane into Aberdeen is about 100' wingspan. The serial no is ZZ176

So is this bigger than the Russian Antanov 124? We took one of those into Aberdeen in the late 90's to ship some stuff to India in a panic
