Yeah, it was meant to be September, but last week I got a cancellation. And i don't want to go telling anyone in case I failed.
And yes, I have a Mk5 Ford Fiesta. Insurance ran out, as I was practising in it, but going to renew it when I get my license through the post, and when I get back from my holiday.

Well done. You have passed the test, now you need to get many many miles under your belt in different road conditions to learn how to drive and how to anticipate what those around you are going to do and what your car is going to do depending on your input to the controls.
The single thing that brought my driving on with what cars can/will do was doing track days. Its not cheap when you're a teenager and a Mk5 fiesta is not a normal track toy but it would be a good part of your learning curve. Doesn't aid reading muppets around you on the road though, that'll come with time.

May I suggest a visit to Safespeed Forums - plenty of advice ,and more for the asking .Have a look at the COAST principles ,or if you can't find them , ask for a pointer - written by an ex police driver, the principles make you think about your driving . My advice -if you aren't seeing things happen far enough ahead ,be able to keep a check on mirrors and speedo, consider reducing speed ,so you can give time to all( because as a new driver you will have problems judging speed) .As experience builds ,these functions become second nature ,but it gives you the time to check speed coming to a gatso /van .Be a coward in confrontations - giving way ,whilst right ,is cheaper than an Insurance claim -especially if the companies do a 50/50 split .Meeting other road users in a limited space - take up the most space ( to avoid the 50/50 side swipe),but be prepared to back down ( to avoid the insurance nasties) - if you feel you're not in the right .As for buses/taxis/wagons bigger than you - again be a coward .And ,when meeting a learner -show courtesy -after all we were all learners once -let's try to teach them that courtesy is not something to get upset over .Now that you have passed your test you can learn how to drive

Well done Andy now is the time you really start learning how to drive. Be very careful as I will be keeping an eye on you!!! Anyway you can start by giving your car a good polish as you won the marshals price at Alford and its an Autoglyn pack with all sorts of goodies to polish the 'BIG BLUE OVAL'. I will pick it up Tues night unless you want to come to Fintray with me to lend a hand with the clear up for the next event?
