Anybody else see this yesterday ? Mates and I still trying to work out how the owner managed to get it in to this position. From the tyre mark in the 2nd picture it looks like the rear end must have spun/slid in.

unless its spun when they hit the tree, but still there is a large grass area and curbs to cross before getting to the tree.

Was talking to the Barber today at the Gyle. Apparently it was a case of the driver hitting the go pedal instead of the stop.

Funnily enough that was my guess as to the cause the second I saw the picture.

It's actually quite scary how often that happens (not that I'm assuming it definitely happened here) - You shouldn't be in charge of a 1ton plus lump of metal if you can get confused between the stop and go pedals, moment of panic or not.

No idea how it happened but i stumbled upon the immediate aftermath. The combined age of driver & passenger would've been quite considerable - as in at least 150.
