Can anyone recommend a good place in Edinburgh for 2 decent tyres fitted on a Sunday for a good price? Could possibly hold off until Monday for an amazing deal. Thanks in advance.

Look online, get the best prices you can and then phone kwik-fit, they usually price match even off the internet.

In my extensive search for the illustrious "good cheap tyre" I have come to the conclusion that "good" and "cheap" do not go hand in hand with tyres.

I have, however, found that Avon ZV5's are as close to that mythical beast as I'm likely to get!

^^^ Agreed.

Decide if you want 'good' OR 'cheap'...

I've got KUMHO ECSTA KU31 on my car. 17" are ~£60 from camskill.co.uk

I guess it depends on what you call cheap too - it's all relative.

I wont spend more than £60 on a tyre for my 4x4 because it's mainly used for... uh, offroading and taking stuff to the dump. On the Monaro, well, I need something that can carry my .5 ton ass in a 2.5+ton car doing *cough* along the motorway without disintegrating. I'm happy to spend £150 per tyre on that. The Astra.. well, it's just had the ZV5's on which cost £70 and for town, country and motorway driving they're a bargain and 'cheap' for what they do.

Stay away from Nankangs whatever you do. Only bad experiences with Hankooks for me - pretty damn good in the dry but throw in a bit of drizzle and you're up the arse of an artic.

Maybe a bit late but check Kwikfit online price and local depot will match it
