Blatantly stealing the idea from notenuphstuph's Elgin photo thread...

Anyone got any good recommendations for photo locations in and around Glasgow for car photography? Industrial sites and buildings as opposed to nice scenic backgrounds.

Only one I know of is the car park under the Kingston bridge.

Watching this with interest...

Merchant Square is a nice location but you'll be lucky to get it quiet. I took this photo approx 9.30pm on a wet, cold Sunday but usually it's busier that this. Think it'd be great to park a car in the middle of that junction with that backdrop:

the science centre, bit cliched though. The Copeland road area near ibrox is still pretty rough looking although youd probably get your car and camera nicked. If you could get permission to shoot near the old graving docks down that way thatd be pretty cool.

Thanks guys. Some good ones there. Don't know if my night time photogrpahy skills are up to much but it'll be a good chance to learn.

day time ones I did this up the Campsie hills

( I am no photographer but they came out well)

I would love to spend some time and get some good shots of the car at night just no time

I remember a friend of mine took some photos somewhere near Ayr

I cant find them but the car was beside some windmills

and was a great backdrop does anybody know where that was?

This guy on seatcupra.net has a few examples of places in Glasgow and the surrounding area on his thread. The Tak Ma Doon road in Kilsyth, Eurocentral and a few city sites too.

Took this one at the infamous dogging spot near Paisley (even at 6pm on a Sunday there were some dodgy looking characters!)

Took it on my phone and stripped out the background colour. Might try and find some locations tonight for a few snaps.

have you tried the wee road up the back of newton mearns heading to bonnyton golf course. views right over the whole town. only problem is the road is a bit sunk into the landscape and the fences etc are higher than your car would be.
