Just wondering if anyone has a heavy duty (ish) crimping tool, not the sort for electrical connections, but more for crimping a loop into some cable similar to cycle brake cable. If anyone has this tool, or access to one then please let me know and I can pop out etc, Edinburgh area (ish) would be best but can travle a bit.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

What are trying to do?

I might be able to help if you can provide some details.

Its for my camera rig to stop it bouncing when in use. I want to have a 12 to 18 inch pole sticking up from the main pole with 2 cables going from the small pole to the ends of the the main pole with a turnbuckle to pull the cable tight. So the cable will need crimping at each end of the turnbuckle and then each end of the cable to the hooks on the ends of each pole.

I hope that makes sense.

In fact here is a photo of someone elses.

I would imagine you could source most of that at the Bosun's Locker in Port Edgar (or any other chandlers).

The solution i came up with to a similar problem was this:

To make sure it was strong enough to make the pullcord for my electrics i hung 5kg off it, it held solid.

Im assuming thats how my dad (vetteG) was suggestion we could help, although my lathe has some parts away being repaired at the moment.
