Why when phoning around for tyres do they tell you to call back once you have got all your prices? They say we'll beat whatever price you get. I won't name any but some places take the utter piss. After 4 Bridgestones ER300's or something decent in that bracket for my MK4 Golf. Will spend whatever for my tyres-since they are rather important. Decided to call some smaller local places - £20 cheaper per tyre than all of the bigger outlets - who I wasn't planning on going near anyway. VW said at my last service we will also beat prices just say what you need. Calling round today since car is due in for its service tomorrow - all tyres are roughly 3mm just now and thats when I tend to change - thought since I'm getting 4 I might get a good deal. Just getting annoyed with some of these tts - £350 but I'll do cheaper if you can find it....why not just tell me what you charge for the lot balancing - everything. If you can do a deal on 4 then thats great.

Sorry for mini rant - if anyone has recommendations for tyre places near St.Andrews/Dundee let me know. Think I'll tell VW what cheapest Quote was and get them done there. Doing my nut in this morning !!

have a good day all !

Why bother ringing round...?

Try www.camskill.co.uk/products - best prices I've seen anywhere. Or www.mytyres.co.uk.

True, you will need to get them fitted, but take them to any small local garage and get them fitted for much cheapness.

Get the cheapest price on mytyres or blackcircles, then call your chosen fitter from their website and ask if they'll cut out the middleman and do a better price direct.

An interesting one I found was to check Kwikfit price on line as local Kwikfit will then match if you ask -if you trust the Kwikfit fitter with your wheels that is

There is a place within 10 miles of me (Auchenlea Tyres) that always seems to be able to beat the online sites like blackcircles.

I usually do a web search of the usuals, then phone several locals and tell them straightaway if the online prices are better.

Mytyres take the p!ss on delivery once you enter in a Scottish Postcode anywhere other than Glasgow or Edinburgh.irked

Camskill seem to play fair in this respect, and get most of my business these days - never had a problem with them.
