Road users views sought on the A811 Stirling to Drymen road
Discussion
Hello,
I seeking some travel advice.
I'm travelling from Freuchie in Fife to Helensburgh this coming Saturday in order to collect a car and drive it back to Freuchie.
It has been suggested to me to travel to Stirling, then take to A811 via Drymen to Helensburgh, thus avoiding motorway speed restrictions and Glasgow. Looking at the road atlas it appears to make sense as it's a relatively straight drive 'as the crow flies'. However, having never driven the A811, is it a decent road to make speedy progress on or should I stick to motorways?
All views welcome
Thanks

Thanks for the advice.
Looking at AA autoroute I think you're referring to the A814 - if so then I agree. I test drove the car I'm collecting along this road and it's pretty epic what with long sweeping arcs and super smooth tarmac.
True but I mean this one http://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/wiki/index.php?title...Looking at AA autoroute I think you're referring to the A814 - if so then I agree. I test drove the car I'm collecting along this road and it's pretty epic what with long sweeping arcs and super smooth tarmac.
