Good, good
So, hoping that it's unlikely any work will start now. In that case I should be good to go for October.
Cheers for the updates.
If you are up on the 16th and fancy some company drop me an email as a few of us should be heading that way.

Cheers for the offer though

Hi Guys
Yes I mentioned this on another thread - basically there is *talk* of work starting on Oct 11th, but they still haven't found anyone to do the work (!) so the feeling is that it won't happen until spring (they can't do it over winter for obvious reasons). If it does happen, I'll know, and will post on these two threads.

OK... latest news.
It looks like the Bealach work *will* start Oct 11th...and is due to finish Nov 17th (though it may well not take that long). They are closing a 2 mile stretch half way up the bealach itself on the east side (the fun bit). So you will not be able to do the loop, or get to the top this way.
You will be able to get to the top by going via the coast road and Applecross.
If you want to go to Applecross, the only way is via the coast road (Shieldaig, Kenmore, etc)
If they bottle out at the last moment I'll post it here.

theres also roadworks on the A832 just a few miles south of Gairloch, they are resurfacing the road but as its singletrack they wait till they finish the section they are doing before letting traffic past, can mean a half hour delay which isnt a big deal in highland terms, but was amusing to see some of the bewildered tourists yesterday marching up to the workmen to see what was going on!
