* Plan B *

It has been noted that many of the Edinlushers like a wee Edineat from time to time and that Thursdays don't suit everyone...

So, at megy's suggestion, here it is...

The Inaugural Edinmex! Edinsomethingedible

La Cantina on Saturday the 9th of October.

¡Ay, caramba!

La Cantina is deid. frown

Plan B to follow...

Sorry to report that La Cantina appears to have ceased trading!

However, if you want to change it to an Edinchinese, Chop-Chop is just next door (I'm just back from there this evening).

irked

That's rather inconsiderate of them! The menu sounded quite interesting.

Can someone confirm that the mexican isnt open anymore, is someone (local, not the dessert) able to phone and confirm or deny. Was still ok before I left.

It rang without answer just after 11, it's engaged now...

I'll try again in a wee while.

Trust me folks, it's shut.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - letting boards are up, no furniture, and it was closed on a Thursday night.

Enjoy the drive though! Plenty of parking at Commercial Quay.

Your evidence is indeed compelling... frown

Any other Mexican recommendations?

Other suggestions?

Mongolian?

I've heard good things about Hanam's if you want some foreign food but I've never been myself. Might be worth a shot some time?

I think we should try chop chop, its meant to be really good and made it onto the Gordon Ramsey program as one of the best Chinese places. Do I take it then that they have opened up another place on Commercial quay?

I for 1 vote for this, unless we go back to Kublai Khan

I can rcommend Chop Chop - authentic Chinese food without the gloopy sauces as we know them here in the vast majority of UK restaurants/takeaways. In fact, as I'm local, sign me up for this one! Not the cheapest place on the planet, but well worth it IMO.
