I'm fully expecting there to be sweet FA snow this year: I've just ordered winter tyres for the Z4 as it was effing useless last winter. Mind you, it's that low that clearance then becomes the issues...

Winter tyres - compulsory in Germany and very handy in Scotland now that we have global warming!!

Half correct my good man, sold the rear wheel drive merc because it was crap in the snow and the wife couldn't drive it.

As any petrolhead will know slk's are really bad in the snow, she lost faith in it so she now has a cayenne to ferry her to uni.

Comments on 911 are genuine baz, fav days of last winter, Porking it upto glenshee for the day and back. Got me an extra 15 mins in bed over taking the van.

Is your Porsche not 4wd though?

The 911 was 4wd mate, they really are tremendous, driving normally in the snow they are actually very capable, in 6inches of snow I was the only one that could get out my street. Not bed when the merc never moved off the drive for 12 weeks.

Beauty of the 911 is that the spread of power to the wheels and balance meant that they are also hugely controllable when hooning in the snow, even for my very limited driving capabilities.

Am guessing I'm in for a very rude awakening with the exige in the snow.

Never had any issues in the snow last year personally, should be better now the car is higher off the ground. Even looking forward to another PH snowy carpark session and see how many folk i can make sick.

And whatever you say it ain't grit. Just lots of little shifty stones that kick up an ruin your paint an crack your windshield. s !
