When he was on the books of Mercedes, yes. But there wasn't much way past Hakkinen and DC back in those days, so went to race in the US with a Mercedes engine. If it was now and he was with them, then I'm sure it'd be a different matter completely, with the other teams they provide for. Just look at his cousin's opportunities this year.
