anyone driven it recently? any roadworks that ought to be avoided?
i used to drive up and down to sellafield and it would take about 5 hours on a good day, carlisle must be, what, 4 hours?
Swmbo does it regularly. 4 hours is realistic enough. She doesn't bother but if it's me driving then I go via Edinburgh to avoid the M80 roadworks between Stirling & Glasgow.i used to drive up and down to sellafield and it would take about 5 hours on a good day, carlisle must be, what, 4 hours?
I drove down that way and back at the weekend. The only roadworks to note are those near Glasgow on the M80 which will be a real pain at rush hour. I went through them at 8am on the Saturday and 2am on the Monday and never got held up, but was stuck for 45 minutes a few months back on a Thursday evening.

Have driven the Glenshee road a few times, it's a belter! Got to get down and back by 7pm or so because we're going out at night. Long day.
