Don't get a Blackberry.
I've got an iPhone 3GS (which I love) and have a brand new Blackberry for work. It's crap.
I always hear people saying that Blackberries are best for email, but I presume that's because they are absolutely no use for anything else. My iPhone receives emails too
......
One of the downsides of the iPhone 3GS at the moment is that since once of the latest software updates, it can crash after about 15 minutes into a phone call. Infuriating, but I think it only affects the 3GS. This is universal problem, so watch out for it. That said, the iPhone is still better than the Blackberry.
The iPhone app's are great, something for everyone, and if you are a social media fiend or hard core web browser, I don't think Apple can be beaten.
Blackberry has pre-historic software, a crap browser and the keys are too small to use for anyone but a mouse.
Just my tuppence worth.

^^^^ This.I work for a phone company, and have trialled the majority of the latest handsets worth having - including the various iPhones. Some handsets can better it on specific aspects, but as an overall package the Desire is outstanding, and the one to go for. Very natural/ intuitive to use, and great performance. Head to a store and try it for yourself, as I doubt you will be disappointed. I recently swapped back from an i4 to the Desire as the little geeky things plagueing the iPhone (such as no bluetooth photo support!) really annoyed me.
If you can wait until the 2nd of November, the Desire HD launches and is that smidge more advanced (albeit with a commensurate pricetag).

Nokia 3210 is the mutts nuts. It has this great game called snake. Bloody addictive.
Oh you've got one of those new ones without a stubby aerial? I like my 5110 thanks all the same.(Joking apart - I hate touch screen and about to buy another SE C902 from flea bay)
I do like the iphone though.
Get a Blackberry - I have one and I love it!
The phone you get ought to reflect the kind of person you are, like a car, so no one can really advise you of what you should get.
I'd recommend the Storm2 regardless - I have one and I can't fault it!
In my experience if you are serious about a phone as a tool for your everyday business then get a Blackberry; if you want to look and feel like a tool get an Iphone.
I accept that the Iphone has more apps but those extra apps are a lot of cr*p anyway. Fancy screensavers, games and the latest ringtones are not my cup of tea but if they are yours then the Iphone would probably have the Blackberry licked!
PS. You may have noticed some hostility towards Iphone users and quite the opposite towards those of us who made the correct choice to opt for a Blackberry. Where I work there are four of us who are quite serious about phones. I have a Storm 2 and my learned friend has a Bold. My two less learned friends opted for Iphones. There is a never ending argument over the office about which is best.

If you can, have a fiddle about with all the handsets mentioned above and see which suits you the best. They are all excellent devices. It may be that you don't like touchscreens, or find a particular handset too small.
The phone wars between iPhone vs Android vs Blackberry are similar to the PC vs Mac/Impreza vs Evo/M3 vs RS4 wars, in so much that there isn't really a "loser", just that the options are just different - despite what some fanboys maintain. Yer pays yer money and takes yer pick.
Although I believe that iPhones have problems with BMW's bluetooth, might not be an issue for you.

If like me you're the kind of person who wants a phone to phone people with a bit of occasional texting, the odd instant email, a camera for a very infrequent snapshot, I can heartily recommend a Blackberry Bold.
If you absolutely have to have access to a computer to stick your nose in 24/7, at the expense of conversing with people and leading a full and sociable life, replying to texts whilst mid conversation, googling everything, updating your facebook status every time you fart, generally appearing like a smart arse by telling everyone 'you have an app for that', get an iphone, they're wicked, the bomb, yo.

I'll be in the market next month due to my contract being up for renewal also. I've been thinking about the iPhone 4, due to the interfaces for the music players available. ie more households wil have ipod connectivity of some sort, but perhaps not other types. Also,I could take an iPhone loaded up with music into the car and more and more cars now have ipod/iphone controls via the head unit/steering wheel controls etc.
Not knowing HTCs too well, what do owners think of their connectivity for music in cars, friend's houses etc?
Also, what is the GPS/Navigation app like on HTCs? I've heard the iPhone one is ok, but nowhere near as good as even a cheap dedicated sat-nav.
