Am I right in saying the SP Mitsu Shoguns are used by the armed police? Just came along the M8 eastbound from Braehead and 2 went screaming past in the other direction. Then when I came off at Chapelhall another one went flying past me towards Carfin/Motherwell.

Wonder whats going on and if the incidents are related!

I've seen them in West George Street in Glasgow city centre weeks ago. Parked up then taking off at high speed. Sounds like them, but I don't know what was going on today?

Dunno about Strathclyde, but Lothian and Borders are all Landrovers for ARV's.

Could be true, I live beside the Police College at Jackton (with the training gun range) and you see the Shoguns pretty frequently.

Not so.

There are Shogun ARVs in use @ L&B.

Are they? Haven't seen any of those, but the Landies pass my house daily...

I'm up that way all the time (the B764 is one of my favourite roads around here to drive), never seen/heard any guns, but I'm always trying to listen ...

Both the D4's L+B Police have are traffic cars and not ARV's.

They do have an unmarked Vogue ARV which is one of the most discreet unmarked cars i've ever seen.

Are you sure? I was pulled outside neighbour's house by one of the Landies and mentioned it to my neighbour who's actually the L+B Supt of road policing at Fettes. He mentioned they were the ARV's and as such didn't work for him...

I think they are not as obvious as to stay with one vehicle type, I will say no more.

Yes, the Shoguns are the ARV's. Not all of them, only the ones with a search light on top and a black star on the roof (for the heli to spot the ARV)
