Not sure if this has been done before but thought i'd post up details of a couple of horrendous potholes around Edinburgh so others can avoid them.

- West Approach Road/Roseburn Traffic Lights: coming onto the West Approach there is a big dip in the road where your left front wheel would run almost immediately after going through the lights. Keep over to the right and you'll avoid.

- Charlotte Square: coming into it from Lothian Road/Across Princess St they are everywhere! Best thing you can do is stick to the right lane and stay as far over as possible. Too many to list but you should miss most of them if you take it easy.

- St Andrews Sq: coming into it from Princess St, going up the hill past Jenners. It's a minefield, tread carefully on the outside lane again and you should be okay. If you turn left into George St there is a huge one as soon as you turn in.

- George St: they are everyhwere heading east from Lime Blue to Harvey Nics.

- Newington Rd: turning left into East Preston St going towards the Commy Pool. Quite possibly the biggest, widest, deepest pothole I have ever seen in my life. No way to avoid it - just take it VERY slowly through it if you are in a low car.

Not sure if this is useful or not but might help some other people avoid them in the future!

That is a bugger Lewis

Just read your other entry, hope u manage to claim for it and get the Exige fixed. Will keep an eye out for the potholes, the TVR wheels buckle easily and have just bought a Insignia VXR with the 20" rims so will be uber careful.

Thanks guys.

It was a nightmare - once i hit it I was expecting to hear something and right enough, a bit metal clunk everytime I go around a corner with any kind of spirit... I think one of the springs have gone or something has snapped/collapsed. Need to wait on some good daylight before I can get under and have a proper look.

Congrats on the new motor though, will keep an eye out for it around town!!!

Have you reported them online?

https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/forms/form/22/en/repo...

The more these get logged the better.
