Hi Troops,

Firstly, thanks to everyone who made the effort to attend the night and enter into the spirit of the proceedings.

A second thanks to the sponsors and donations all as detailed in Kenny's post yesterday.

Finally, thanks to Kenny for his massive amount of help and a well done to his superb presentation of the awards (even after I landed him in the sh!t by forgetting to bring his speech and notes). A big thanks to Shug from Scottish Elises, Campbell and Jen for all their help in the planning of the awards and stuff.

For those that were not able to attend, started with drinks, then a fabulous dinner. We then had the awards and a fantastic cocktail making class (inc free bevvy for Johnny Carrera) by 3x world barman of the year.
By this point many people were well on their way from sober and we retired to the games room for scalextics, playstation and banter followed by a disco and more bevvy. As Kenny mentioned we also managed to raise £472 for charity from the auction/games.

There were loads and loads of funny's on the night and it was really good to meet old and new friends.

My favourite joke of the night was during the awards (the SE guys are really good trackday drivers and their driver of the year was announced as a semi pro racer (and seriously good/quick driver)). Voted on and judged by a squad of ring veterans and european trackday junkies. The awards worked on a SE category followed by the PH award for the same category. After the Elises guys had gone through the possibles then 3rd, 2nd and 1st. kenny stood up deadpan and said "at pistonheads we dont really have any good drivers so we just gave it to the one who crashed the least" to a stunned silence then an almighty outburst of hilarity as the Elise guys realised Kenny was actually joking - You had to be there!!

Anyway down to the awards

Pistonheads

DRIVER OF THE YEAR

Names offered but discounted - Paul "what ditch" QV and Robert "what massive campervan" Burns

3rd - Alan "Cream Cake Clarky" Clark - (only crash he had was on his drive)
2nd - Simon "Monaro 5.7" Nelson - for managing that big barge round dukes pass at superb rates (we all agreed his drivings better that he music he insists on having on during his youtube posts showing in car footage
1st Alan "993 Al" Cunningham for "keeping the GT2 on the blackstuff despite his best attempts to throw it in a ditch and for seeing through the red mist and slaps from his misses that appear on every run".

FUNNIEST POSTS

We had to trawl really hard as none of you are very funny in a ha ha sense!!

3rd - Paul 450 for the Kennys camouflage training
2nd - Johnny Carrera for his early morning ramblings after being on the bevvy
1st - Oobster - Ella the Berwick Fortune Teller

MOST INFORMATIVE POSTER

3rd - Fabric 2.@ for consistent good spots and rare finds for the Spotted thread
2nd - Aly77 - for excellent ring and european road trip summaries
1st - OlbertJ for being top knowledged grease monkey and knowing every engine/gearbox set up known to man!

BEST PHOTO

3rd - Baz 64GTS - Monaco uncovered photo's
2nd - Brad SXI lad - Ferrari Terrace
1st - Paul QV - 3 Generations of Lambo

BEST POLISHER

3rd - Paul QV - Lambo Countache and his other Italian exotica routinely spanked then cleaned after runs
2nd - Mikey - Yellow 968
1st - Johnny Carrera for his Pristing 993 turbo

PISTONHEADER OF THE YEAR

We had a few crackers for this, one chap for the fact his car is worth more than his house, another for the fact he pretty much started the excellent bunch of runs/friendships growing through PH scotland in the last couple of years. A few others for various reasons. But in the end it was an easy decision, there is one individual who supports pretty much every event he can, promotes an excellent social side to the site in the East and is genuinely one of the the Nicest and most helpful guys you'll meet on the site.

Pistoneheader of the year - Mr Alastair "Fluffnick" Murray

And Finally onto the SPECIAL (needs) award of the year or TOSSER OF THE YEAR

Largely due to his inability to park anywhere he should, influenced by his inability to distinguish between Blue and Green but mainly because he's a cheeky little bu99er and is most commonly found behind every cheeky post and signs off with a hehe - Mr Bradley "SXI lad"
(Just incase anybody didnt pick up this final award was even more tongue in cheek than the others and our boy accepted it with the humour everybody associates with him).

SO.. to some up - fantastic night, fantastic company - Thankyou all very much for making the effort to come and we will see you next year for the next one (which may well be mid-late Oct as an end of season night so as not to clash with Xmas)

Cheers

Flip

PS can we get some photos up as I havent seen any yet (other than Scotty "red2-11" being caught in a compromising position with the stig)

At the big award ceremony I distinctly heard "driving of GT2", no mention of Oddy or Mini.... I rest my case. wink

Was hoping to see some Run footage at the night out, any chance someone with technical skills could compile a 2010 compilation? (see what I did there)
Post it on YouTube or pass round a disc (like a sticky porno from our youth)?

Aye, the run footage would have worked fine if Flip's new laptop had Quicktime on it. We had the footage, just not the means of playing it frown
