Just spent 2.5 hours trying to get to work.

Managed from Penicuik to Hermiston Gait then turned around and came home...just.

Driving up my hill to the house, 2nd gear, barely ticking over and the car was still going sideways all the way up.

Toyo Proxes T1-R on an MX5 do not offer the most grip in these conditions it has to be said.

Car now safely tucked back up in the garage.

Thing is...I started off this morning with the roof down

I just spent 2 hours going 3 miles to the M8 motorway junction, and getting a traffic report just in time, to tell me that it was down to one just-passable lane and getting worse - so I turned rounda and came home. 2 hours, 6 miles and I didn't get anywhere at all...

The live eye views on Traffic Scotland look interesting, good fun sitting in
house trying to work out what's going on. M8 looks closed at Newhouse, traffic getting taken off at
Shawhead. Driving to Wales tomorrow, that route looks OK at the moment. (I shouldn't
have said that!)

yeah I was thinking that as well with those cameras but I think the pictures just aren't updating as the vehicles haven't moved, not even the one that was on the free lane!

All trains in and out of Glasgow were cancelled this afternoon - most buses were the same but eventually got one which took nearly two hours to get to where I had left the car at the train station this morning. Packed in like sardines but the driver got through in the end. Well done him.
