Not that it will affect anyone here, but just saw this article about the usual crackdown on festive drink drivers in Scotland.

"Strathclyde Police’s festive road safety campaign begins today, Monday 6 December 2010, and continues until Monday 3 January 2011.

From 7am this morning, officers will be out in force in the run-up to the festive holiday season, targeting those drivers who not only put their own lives, but the lives of others at risk, by driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs."

Does that also apply to drivers of cars with summer tyres (BMWs in particular) who are still attempting to drive around Scotland in this weather causing disruption and accidents by their own inconsiderate actions? No snow chains, towing rope, snow shovel or even winter shoes (on two people I stopped to help this morning) - what on earth did they think when they woke up this morning - Dense or what? Grump over. smash

They need to clamp down on the tards who don't clear the screens also!

Witnessed two lazy assed drivers today, one who had just cleared this snow off his side of the screen. He pulled out on a transit, how he missed him is anyones guess. And a VXR astra down at the school screen frozen looking through the small heated bit at the bottom.

Absolute fkwits!

And breathe! smile

Around this time a couple of years ago, I was flagged down by the police who'd setup a little breath-test station. I'd just picked my girlfriend up from a works night out, and she was a little worse for wear. The policeman stuck his head in my window, asking if I'd had anything to drink tonight. "Nothing at all officer", I replied, but the car must have been reeking of booze. Not a word was said about it, and after a cheery "Carry on, have a safe journey" from him, I was on my way again.

I saw a guy this morning driving down a relatively busy street, two-way traffic, with his windscreen completely frozen and obscured and his head stuck out of the window to see. Total lunacy.

Agreed... he should have had his missus looking out of her window instead biggrin

Hope that 944 is tucked up in the garage Tony?

Sadly, it is.

It’s actually out of action until I can get it to Motortune for a bit of front suspension work anyway. The snow started the day I had it booked in, so I’m waiting for Shotts to be reachable again!
