Kirkliston - Anyone?
Discussion
Hi guys, is anyone on here from kirkliston or have family here? I need to know what is the best for Internet out here. My inlaws have BT broadband which is running at 512k
I can't even watch anything on YouTube. Just tried to download my iPhone update and it is saying it will take 16 hours!
I am thinking of getting a dongle and go that way (can't be any worse) but want to know who to go with.
What are you guys using?
Please help!

I didn't think so either until I did a line speed check
Also spoke to BT and they said they have no immediate plans to improve the area.
Standard ADSL RAG results

You cannot receive 2Mbps ADSL
You may be able to receive 1Mbps ADSL
You can receive 512kbps ADSL
You can receive 256kbps ADSL
You are approximately 2.52km from the exchange. Note that this is the straight line distance - the actual cable length will be longer!
I see what you mean. Could I interest you in a doocot of pigeons?

Is the exchange in South Queensferry or Newbridge ?
Orange reckon you can get 4mb in the 0131 333 area.
If you are with O2 or Orange for your mobile go with either, you'll get unlimited broadband for <£10 a month.
Thats weird - when I stayed in South Queensferry, just up the road, the line would take 13mb !

Im in Kirkliston.
being honest nobody is particularly good
Im with plusnet - I was with BT - changed as plusnet were cheaper.
Ive not had any particular problems - speed is OK - but not good enough for watching TV etc all the time - mostly it is ok - but sometimes not.
Exchange is in Ratho Station BTW - it is planned to be unbundled (in August of this year!)
Roll on that day.....
