Anyone else finding their mpg has died off pretty bad since it dipped to the -10s?
Diesel must be like treacle at the moment! Although with it picking up to between zero and -6 today noticed a marked improvement on my Dunfermline - Edinburgh - Glasgow run!
Merry Christmas everyone.

Yep, wife has been very busy double shifting in and around Perth as a carer. 06:30 starts and not back till 10.
Even she commented that the mpg has gone for the worse, and bearing in mind her stop/start work with the engine cooling in between I think it's down in the low 40's/ high 30's at present........

Yup, When I was running diesel I noticed that, but then again, I've noticed that Diesel engines in general show a more marked difference in fuel consumption when it is called upon to do more work.Diesel must be like treacle at the moment! Double whammy as not only are we poor diesel drivers getting less mpg but the buggers take a lot longer to get heat out of the heater.
ETA Oh and crikey Moses, look at the price of the frothy pink stuff once vat goes up it'll be over £1.30 / litre

yep when you get up at 0545 and it's -10/-14C there ain't much option but to let it run for 10-15 mins (private drive)to try and get some heat into the block.ETA Oh and crikey Moses, look at the price of the frothy pink stuff once vat goes up it'll be over £1.30 / litre
