After some more bits and bobs for the house so hopefully i can draw on the Scottish PH Massive's experience once again.

Radiators i'm after this time. Central heating type, not automotive!

Have had a few quotes from places but seem to be out of a lot of stock at the minute, maybe just the rubbish weather.

Any suggestions for a local business that can get me a good price, who have you used?

After lots of online research I actually got about 8 from B&Q online their high ned stuff is actually quite smart. Make sure you do a BTU calculation to get the right size though!

Aye, got all my BTU's here, been looking at a few sites but they invariably don't rate them by BTU, just price.

BnQ are about £100 dearer than Screwfix but they don't have half the radiators i want in stock.

Is that even in the sale?
I can recommend these bad boys if you want it toasty - not sure if its the budget you are looking at but these are what I put throughout the house.

I wish this had come up in conversation the other night. Send me what you need and I'll see about prices for you. How soon do you need them?

Very impressed with the Kermi ones we got

http://www.kermi.co.uk/EN/Radiators/Heating_Radiat...

Supposed to be a lot better than B&Q, Screwfix etc for prob not that much more £££'s.

Anybody have some contacts for cavity wall insulation?

Tried the grant route but it's just the kitchen that needs doing, so not enough of the house to qualify for said grant. Over the phone quote circa £300!

Currently have access to the top of the cavity on all 3 kitchen walls so even a supplier of the foam beads would be good. Then i can feed them in from the top without the need for drilling holes, hopefully.

Do your whole house then! I just got my house in Falkirk done for £129 for the complete house (- the extension). 3 bed semi - 80m2 of the wee balls. Drilled holes, but can't really see them.
The company was Eaga Scotland 01506 417111. They did the work in December and said they would send me a bill. Not had it yet, but happy with the work (no mess left). The house seems warmer, but that could be the placebo effect.

Only problem is, it's just the kitchen that has a cavity wall.

I'll give them a bell though and see what they say, cheers man.

Try some of the local independent plumbers with a gas certificate as they were a lot cheaper for me than some of the proper gas/heating companies.

Don't discount BG as when they have reductions (ie at least a 1/3 off) they can be very competitive.

They quoted double what the independents quoted so even with a discount they are generally more expensive.

True, they normally are but last Summer they had promotions on that were very good (read more at www.diynot.com) probably were more like 1/2
price rather than 1/3 off !

Looking for some interior trim stuff now.

Skirting Boards, facings, door linings and door checks.

Any suggestions where's best for those?
