Hi, has anyone been skiing/boarding at Glenshee recently? Thinking about going up on Monday and just wondering what the slopes/roads are like?

Cheers,
Mike.

Was there yesterday, slopes we pretty good, a few bits just a bit patchy but nothing to spoil the fun.

Biggest hassle this week has been the ques, mega!

Hopefully the 2nd poma up sunnyside is open again as this was causing significant ques up that side aswell.

I'm fancying aviemore this week, anybody been?

Roads are pretty clear at Glenshee, unlike two weekends ago when they were very, very scary on the Sunday evening. It was snowing so hard that all I could really see were trees on either side of me and a flat white patch in front.

I prefer Cairngorm for skiing just because its easier to get to and there are more facilities close by, unlike Glenshee where there is essentally nothing for miles around.

Skiing at Cairngorm is usually more reliable too and earlier this year the snow cover was fantastic. Its more expensive than Glenshee though.

Okay, the roads were pretty clear when I came down from Braemar two days ago. They could be a nightmare again by now I suppose.

Will probably end up going to Glenshee as it's a bit closer but would like to go to Aviemore sometime as haven't been there before.

Just got back from there on Wednesday and there was only about 100 cars there (4 rows deep). Still some runs shut, visibility poor. The runs were generally hard work, much much better on the ski hire / main complex side than on sunnyside, but the snow was fresh and the whole lot relatively ice free.

Went to Glencoe yesterday. Top slopes very hard work due to very deep snow at first - the snowboarders loved it, but for the non gays on trays, the lower slopes were better at first until they started to get icy, then the upper slopes had been pisted and were absolutely lovely. Still quite a few bare patches here and there where the wind blows the snow off, which led to a few winces as my skis caught on the stones. Didn't bother my missus in her brand new hire skis. There's still not enough snow to be able to ski back down to the car park, although a handful tried. And the top reds and black are shut due to avalanche risk. We had a great day out, only slightly marred by the prick in the transit van who was wheel spinning on the flat bits, but decided to go up the hill anyway, blocking the whole access road for 20 minutes.

Boys were at glenshee yesterday it was meant to be perfect conditions. I was homebound due to the miss's and her dreaded morning sickness.

Inlaws comin this week to look after her so am looking at glenshee on sat and aviemore on sun where I beleive the park will be finished, cue much hilarity and sore crashes.
