How do people.

Looking to arrange a rolling road day, somewhere central, for everyone to come along and put their horses where their mouths are biggrin

As the weather will no doubt be still terrible, looking at end of Feb, there's no run planned for then either.

Costs are normally about £30/40 for 2/3 power runs. You then get a printout with bhp, torque and A/F mix. I'm sure you've all seen the idea before.

If i can get enough names i'll get in contact with a few places this week and see what it's going to cost and get an exact date.

So stick your name down if you'd like to come along. Spectators welcome too, please say whether running or watching.

I'll be learning to drive on those dates, so I might come depending on if one of my parents will tag along and let me drive there. I'm pretty sure my mum won't let me put her mighty 1.1 206 on the rollers though frown

Where you planning on having this, in terms of a garage? I was planning one round about the same time up in Aberdeen but maybe something more central might be an idea...

I was looking at something between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Had seen there was one previously up in the 'deen.

Previously went to one in Bathgate that was fairly good.

Where would be central for everyone, Perth?

I'd be interested to see some pretty exotics on the rollers!
And just excited to see them in general to be honest... biggrin

Location will be dependent on where there are 4WD (I'm presuming a lot of folk wanting to go will be Sub/Evo etc owners?) rolling roads. So where do these exist?

I *think* Extreme Motorsport in Whitburn have 4WD rollers ... I may well be completely wrong though biggrin

-EDIT-
According to their website, they do indeed cater for both 2wd & 4wd cars smile

That might be too far south for the northern PH'ers...

Any bods from Stirling/Perth know of a 4WD dyno near them...? I know Google will know the answer... but I can't be arsed finding it. tongue out

Well, we have Dastek in Dalgety Bay and Star Performance in Kirkcaldy...
Star Performance definitely have a 4wd Rolling Road but I'm not sure about Dastek ... their site's a bit wierd - can't find much info on there...

Only heard good things about Jim at Star performance. I believe he stopped doing some of the rolling road days because he had his fair share of nuggets flying about before and after the rolling road session.

As long as everyone going drives sensibly near his garage and you mention that it's not a bunch of boy racers (i'm too old & old ba#tard racer doesn't sound right) then i'm sure he would do something. I'd be happy to drive up to Kirkcaldy as long as it is a day i can make it and i'm not moving house. Need to hurry up before Ally starts to nick any spare dosh for the baby fund.

Seems that Star do rolling road days on Sundays which helps but does anyone know how they do the runs - some extended runs holding the engine every few 100 revs are potentially quite abusive and painful to watch!

Wide open throttle, to the red line, usually In 3rd, three times... Innit?

Might just take the 944 then, an engine for that is cheaper than the 928.

It's normally done as a pull in gear (whichever is closest to 1:1) 4th gear normally for the most accurate figures.

Similar to doing a 30-1xxmph pull on the motorway?
