I know a few people have asked about this sort of place before, so I thought I’d share the info now that I’ve found it. They had a stall in George Square yesterday at the Monte Carlo Rally pre-event.

They seem to be a friendly bunch and their rates sound fair. Rent a workshop bay, lifts, etc for an hourly or day rate and use their tools to work on your car. Having access to lifts makes a lot of simple jobs a million times easier, so I’m tempted.

Yes, I'm one who did ask about this sort of thing a few months back.

If you do pay them a visit, perhaps you could tempt them to open up in the Granite City and Edinburgh to?

Cheers!smile

Yes, this is the idea I posted on a while back when I asked who was interested in a Car club type facility. Prices are still quite high though.IMO. But I recon they must have some high overheads with rent, rates, insurance and services.

I am still having a thought on the idea, just struggling to find height for the lift. If a Cant get one then the who idea is off as I will only have a pit and I'm not sure who would use a pit or not. I know I would, but.......

I think that's a great idea.. Especially this time of year, and if like me you don't have a garage. I looked at renting a garage in Aberdeen, but they are all either expensive / over-priced or as basic as the council garages for much less, and when considering how many times I would actually use it for working on the car, it was probably a handful of times a month.

I especially like the hydraulic lift idea for a weekend, which would have been extremely useful for an engine swap I was contemplating doing last year, at at £230 is decent value!
