Hi,

I'm looking to find a hotel in Aberdeenshire, but a great one!

Ive got the chance of a night away with the wife in a few week without the kids, and I want to make the most of it. Does anyone know which hotel is THE BEST in this area? Cost isn't an issue, but a great space, restaurant and spa would be top of the list. Something out of the city centre as we are not looking to leave the hotel for the day and night ......

Any help would be appreciated.

Really nice & away from it all but there is posher ones but sometimes that isn't for the better.

I'd choose by which one has the best suited facilities.

At Ardoe at teh weekend and not impressed. Freezing cold and 'fraying at the edges' - long time since it was the MacDonald flagship.

No spa but what about Meldrum House? Their suite is amazing!! Super bathroom, sitting room, big bed ...

Ardoe is a sorry shadow of its former self now that Mercure have it.

Stayed at Pittodrie House the weekend before last and it's still top notch.

What about the Craigendarroch? i havent been for a while now, but very nice setting, decent spa and gym and good food? A little bit out of the way but not too far.

You can also get a suite there with your own jacuzzi and private parking - at least you used to.

Absolutly fantastic, we have just spent the weekend there, and I can honestly say that it was perfect. So much fun, so relaxing just what we needed, great food and great wine coupled with outstanding rooms, great value for money.
