Pre-theatre dinner in Glasgow
Discussion
Short notice, but if it wasn't for the last minute nothing would ever get done!
"Plan late, plan once" said Napoleon.
Anyway, off to see a bit of 'culcha' in Glasgow tonight, so looking for a decent pre-theatre bite to eat in the merchant city.
Any recommendations? Not fussed by any type of food over another, we both eat anything. Very fond of Cafe India, but would like to try something different.
Anyone been to Guy's? It's on Candleriggs and looks about right.

Khublai Khan's is fantastic if you've never been:

Love that restaurant, although some people find it a bit strange ordering Ostrich or Zebra though ...
Failing that, Café India is a nice place

No, but if you go post up your thoughts as I haven't heard anything but rave reviews for the place! The food in Italian Caffe ( http://www.theitaliancaffe.co.uk ) down in the Merchant City is excellent, as is their selection of wine.
And in the end I couldn't get tickets for the theatre, so we ended up in Mother India instead!
Top place, as always, and the service was excellent. Big portions for the main courses, best pakora I have ever tasted. So nice to have a curry that's not some sloppy sauce chucked on average meat.
They also don't know their whisky particularly - missus wanted a jameson on ice; since they didn't have jamesons, she got bushmills and they only charged it as a grouse! Brilliant!
