Can anyone recommend a good hotel in scotland for a romantic weekend with the other half? im thinking log fire, roll top bath, nice food... that kind of thing.

Any location in scotland considered.

Knockomie Hotel in Forres might be worth a look. Its one of those places with a bit of class but despite that no real airs and graces.

Ribeye Steak there is the best I've ever had. Food is not cheap mind.

Kilcamb Lodge is a favourite of mine...

Also for atmosphere, nice food which isn't expensive and some great rooms, The George in Inveraray is hard to beat...

Monachyle Mhor hotel on the banks of Loch Voil is lovely. Their web site seems to be down at the mo but well worth checking out.

Falls of Lora near Oban. They have a few special rooms. Good food and not to pricey. http://www.fallsoflora.com/

Try this:

If that's not "wow" enough for you have a word with the Queen and see if she will do you a deal on Balmoral.
