Admittedly they are good photos but I am glad to say I wasn't onboard to take them myself! LOL
I got them sent to me in an email and thought I'd share with PH. smile

Love it how in the pictures it looks like the boat has a deployable smoke screen to hide its self from the photographer hehe

From what i've been told it was mechanical issues when the boat was up tide of the platform and drifted in.

Whatever Magnus collects from the big hole in the ground, the duty wonk will have pressed the 'OH st!' button and shut everything down as soon as Defender had the black out/power failure; that's the usual SOP.

Great photos! The boat didn't actually lose power until it was fifty metres from the platform when they tried to start the aft thruster on full power with only one geny on the board. Turns out the guy on watch had the autopilot engaged with the magnus as the waypoint! Only thing that stopped her from going all the way under the platform was they jammed the azipods on the structure! Damaged one of the pods so bad they had to come back in on one engine. Don't envy their crew much!
