hoping for a couple of suggestions as i know nothing about where to stop off for a night in Wales, Basically doing the Phil Price rally school day with a mate on the friday which finishes about 4pm was then thinking driving a couple of hours max to an an overnight stay accommodation and a dinner, But know idea where would be worth a stop over, any suggestions

If you don't mind going a few minutes off your route then Llangollen is nice for an evening, some decent pubs & plenty of hotel options. Can be busy though, so if that bothers you there are plenty of quieter options along your proposed route.

Consider Ludlow or Shrewsbury. Both lovely towns and should find somewhere to eat and stay. If not Llangollen would be nice but very busy especially if its a bank holiday.
