Hello all ; my TVR Tasmin 280i has been standing still for a while (due to winter) & today I tried to fire her up : no go !

Apparently the transponder of the immobilizer was dead : I was unable to de-immobilize, so I decided to get the whole Meta system (M36T) out.

With the dead transponder however, all electrics worked when key in "2" (windows, lights, etc), but I could not start.

Fiddling a couple of hours & tracing the 10 black cables (to make it easy smile ), I managed to take the Meta system out : car fires up nicely, drives great, BUT : no electrics : no horn, no windows, no wiper, no lights frown

Any idea how I can solve this ? Probably not a fuse nor a relay since it worked before removing the Meta :S ?!

Thanx all for your help smile

Thatll be back to the old 'EARTH' comments!!

You might of dislodged somthing while taking out your alarm system, and most probably a single earth wire will be the problem, check where you have been rooting around and also check the earth that goes to the bonnet catch/pull,

good luck

thank you for your replies : so I checked loose wires, forgotten wires, etc, but nothing found : in fact, the "immobilizer" did only consist of 4 pair of wires that were (dis)connected by some relays.

Checked earth on steering column : ok, & to be sure pulled a new (temporary) cable for battery ground to steering column : no luck frown

I checked all fuses in the fuse box (replaced them ALL) : no lcuk ; checked all 9 relays in relay box : all ok, they switch if you apply 12V to them.

Only thing working : engine is running, hazard lights, locks frown

Any other relays/fuses to be found other than the ones under left hand dash side ?

I traced back all pairs of black cables and soldered the original cables back together, and now it all works !

Engine ran a bit rough though when I cam back from test drive, but that's possibly because running low on petrol wink

It's a bizarre thing, wedge electrics ... wink

Thanx all for your help !
