Hi all,

I see this 350SE is up for sale again.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2837880.htm

I saw it on another website late last year and was tempted, but not in a position to proceed. This time the advert mentions the Andy Rouse engine, but I didn’t think that was fitted to the 350SE (thought that was the 390SE). Anybody know this/this car?

All 350SE's had the 3.9 litre V8 engines in them.

Hope this helps.

AFAIK Andy Rouse (ex BTCC) developed/built the 3.9 for the early 390se models. By the time the 350se came along, I'm sure the engines would have been built by NCK (with a slighly different bore size). The misspelling of the name does not instill confidence that the buyer knows his stuff. Alternatively, the engine was built by some unknown person called Rouche. The seller needs to be sure of his facts to avoid misrepresenting.

yes My understanding was that some of the very earliest 390SE's had Rouse developed engines circa 1984/5. The 350SE run of cars had the same lump & setup as the 400SE.

Thanks chaps. I thought it wasn't likely and doesn't inspire me to travel up to Lancashire sadly.

I thought the 350SE had the same engine as the 4.0 Chim/Griff/V8S I don't think they was NCK, or had the extra compression and porting done on the 390/400SE's

I thought I'd put this up here-

I keep pondering a wedge (had a chimaera before) and I saw this in Galway. 350SE sounds interesting- was new one to me.

If that price is correct then it's a bargain.
Looking on wikipedia it's number 19 as it matches the colour and interior trim.
I've just had mine insurance assessed for £9k
I love mine and can't recommend them enough.

Very cheap for a rare beast..Even if it needed that spent on it again it would still be worth it..I think there were only 22 left now???

So did you make an enquiry?

I might be tempted if you didn't.

I was googling and I saw this one- http://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/tvr-350se

Knowing the life cars lead in Ireland, the Galway one is probably in bits so I didn't call. If the auction one is only a few grand more it's probably a better bet. In the end I really was after a 350i FHC anyway so I might hold off.

I still can't help be interested in a cheap interesting car just a drive away. Arrgghhh.
