Shame it's not for the wedge
Drove up to EDA in Castleford with my Ford V8 for a dyno session.
Crane in the US ground me a custom cam for my other car. Due to it's weight 3800lb I was looking for some serious torque with as flat a curve as possible in the mid range for both effortless cruising and overtaking.
Not so high on the horses at 412 but not that bothered about that number.

The best £200 quid I've spent in a long time. A fresh 408ci Ford Cleveland stroker, started first time and after all tweaking, jets, ignition and carb spacer gained around 30 horse to make the numbers above.

I wish Al.
Of course that was for nigh on five hours of hooking up and running the engine up to the dyno, checking all fluids including oil pressure before pressing the button for the first time. I think eleven pulls in total with an adjustment or jet change in between plus 32, 34 and 36 total advance. Also fitted an adjustable vacuum canister in the dizzy.
Kenny told me they have seen rods come through the block. I did not want to go there so held my breath but the old girl fired instantly first time.
Campbell,
The Ford Cleveland offers big block performance in a small block size. It's for my De Tomaso - note the DT rocker covers!
Weight of the iron block & heads Cleveland is circa 240Kg as against the Rover's 230kg, however I have after market ali heads!
Ruuuuud,
Torque figure in the thread title.
I just checked the graph and I have over 400 lb ft from 3500 through 5800rpm which is pretty broad.
Brand new ali blocks are now being cast in the US at around $2500 USD - nice.
