Hi everyone,

I am keen to purchase a good 350i, dont mind a little bit of TLC but would prefer to get something that requires little doing to start with if possible. I have just sold my car so have cash waiting and am looking to spend between 3-4k.

If anyone is looking to part with their car then please get in touch, I will be at the BBWF next month but up for buying something right away if the right car is available.

Thanks.

Karl

Karl , its probably best to get the best condition 350i you see , ie one thats had lots of tlc , eg newish exhaust system , very very solid chassis , tidy interior and v8 that has been looked after.

Hi mate..Check the classifieds on this forum..Dont rush in and look for something that has had regular servicing and gripes sorted..When you do please feel free to include your name in the BBWF whos coming list near the top of forum and put your name down for the hog roast and if your staying over night on the friday or saturday or both then please book a room as they are running out..Good luck..Ziga

P:s..I think this one looks a bit sexy in black and has a big service history..Its a bit far from you though..

Hi Guys,

I really appreciate your advice and comments, much appreciated!! As much as my money is burning a hole in my pocket! I am going to refrain from rushing in and getting the wrong car, so what I thought I would do is attend some meetings and speak to some owners and hopefully find a car thats been cherished, I dont mind getting the spanners out but really fancy a car that wont be a headache. I went to the TVR II on Saturday and spoke to a chap (Andy) who was very knowledgeable and very helpful, unfortunatley there werent many wedges there in total but the ones I saw/heard did confirm that I have to have one!! I think there must have been 10 there at TAG II maybe?

I did see the Black one on pheads and your right its a bit too far away from me which is a shame, if I do find a car soon then I will definatley stick my name down for the BBWF-hog roast!! but if I am still searching then hopefully someone might have a car for sale there? in the meantime I will keep checking pheads and the TVR club classifieds, I think I will join the club and see whats in the sprint magazine too. I dont want to buy from a dealer either as I want to be able to have a good chat with the owner and find out exactly what the car has had done.

Thanks again guys! hopefully see you at the BBWF in my new toy!!!

I liked the look of the black 350i as well, and enquired after it.

I didn’t pursue it as they couldn’t give me any information on the state of the chassis, saying they hadn’t looked underneath, but the recent MOT would have highlighted any problems. I had to politely disagree on that point.

I am a loooong way away so couldn't justify travelling, but if there’s anyone willing to go and have a look first I might reconsider…

Cheers.

Whilst I was trying to sell my BM there seemed to be a few good cars available that have since been sold, and now I have the money its all dried up which is a shame, there was a nice one in Wales that sounded good, it was white and had been highly maintained by the list of work carried out in the advert, D reg - £3450 I think, now sold. looked lovely. Just hope someone eventually wants to part with their pride and joy!!

That black one does look nice but I would have thought the first place a dealer would have checked would have been the chassis/outriggers etc.

Karl

It was nice meeting you and your father on Saturday.

Ref the Black car I believe its also on e-bay at a Higher price at present!

As I said to you on Saturday don't rush just take your time go and look (Even if they are on e-bay) and check the chassis then the mechanicals or better still find somebody who nows the cars and take them with you!

Hope to see you at BBWF.

Andy

Hello Andy! I hope you had a good weekend at Goodwood and you didnt get too rained upon yesterday!??

It was great to have a chat with you on Saturday and really appreciated your valuable advice! I have taken your good advice (along with other wedge owners who have kindly replied to my post) and will be patient and get the right car, I wont be too hasty and rush in, I want to buy the best car I can afford with the aim of keeping it for a long time.

Thanks again Andy for the chat on Saturday! I will definately be at the BBWF with or without a car, maybe it may be the best place to tempt an owner to part with their wedge!

Well it's less than a mile from me... I took a quick look at it last weekend whilst out on a bike ride with my girls.... it was quick (the look...), first impressions weren't good so I didn't do much more than a double walkaround.. tired was my first thought. I may be doing it an injustice but that was my take on it. If anyone wants a better appraisal next time I'm home (in a week or so) I could take a camera down and open it up for some pics...? wink

Here is one within budget that's appeared on the bay. Looks reasonable and is a nice colour combination....
