Definately not escort mk3 / 4 as thats used in the S series and its part of the indicator switch assembly when you open up the steering column.Anyone got a pic I might know what its off.
Not a TR-7 part, that's a 6 pin switch (but looks the same).
You need a 7 pin switch which I found as a Range Rover part (and I'm sure others but I never could could confirm). I have the number at home and I'm pretty sure I added it to my post or to the MOT parts list. The same as yours except it has bit of red reflector where the blank area is.
I have a spare if you can't turn one up locally. Grady
ETA: Range Rover PRC4156

182SA is Lucas's range - all the rockers are 182SA series.
34158A is the specific type number that defines that switch
25 85 is Week 25, 1985... when it was made

The switches are assembled from common parts and some are actually the same switch with a different legend on them. They can be stripped and rebuilt so if you have, say, a burned-out contact on your heater fan switch, you can strip another switch and rob the contact strip from it... and so on.

When my hazards didn't work, it turned out to be lack of use of the switch. Several cycles of on & off cleaned itself and started working again. All this assuming your switch isn't too broken!!
I'll second that - in fact most of these switches can be rejuvenated with about 10-20 cycles of flicking on and off - at last a legitimate use for a 7 year-old boy! Just leave him sitting in the driver's seat for 30 minutes...James
Not sure how old your car is, but when I MOT'd mine the hazzards would only work with the ignition on and the indicator in the down or up position, however, the very VERY helpfull MOT guy ( who is well into his classics and hot rods) kindly informed me that as the car was born in 1981, if there was NO SWITCH to be seen in the car then it wasnt a problem.
Cue a quick unplugging and hiding of the cables and swittch, and TA DAAAAAAAA, MOT'd!
Well, after i had sorted the rear calipers that were siezed!!!
